Blauth Painting was founded with a clear standard in mind: painting should be treated as a professional trade, not a commodity.
That standard was shaped through five years of union training and field experience with DC9 Local 18 in New York City. Working in demanding environments reinforced the importance of proper preparation, jobsite organization, safety, efficiency, and attention to the details that ultimately determine the quality of the finished work.
Those principles became the foundation of Blauth Painting.
Today, we serve residential and commercial clients throughout Central Iowa with a process built around careful preparation, clear communication, professional execution, and respect for the property we are trusted to work in.
We also intentionally limit the number of projects we take on at one time. That allows us to protect scheduling integrity, maintain consistent oversight, and give each project the attention it requires.

When I started Blauth Painting, I was never interested in building a company that simply moved from one job to the next as quickly as possible. I wanted to build a company whose name meant something.
My years working in the trade taught me that the difference between an average paint job and exceptional work usually isn’t found in the final coat of paint. It is found in everything that happens before it—the preparation no one sees afterward, the decisions made when something isn’t quite right, the way a jobsite is maintained, and whether the people doing the work care enough to hold themselves accountable when no one is watching. That philosophy is what I have tried to build into Blauth Painting.
When someone hires us, I understand that they are trusting us with more than walls, doors, or a commercial facility. They are trusting us with their home, their business, their schedule, and their money. I take that responsibility personally.
We are not trying to be the company that does the most projects. I would rather be known for doing the right projects the right way, building long-term relationships, and leaving behind work that both our clients and our team can be proud of.
As Blauth Painting grows, there are many things that will change. The equipment will change. The size of the projects will change. Our capabilities will continue to expand. The standard behind the name should not.

Our proposals define the preparation and materials appropriate for the project, and our crews are expected to follow those specifications in the field. We do not treat preparation as a shortcut opportunity simply because much of it will eventually be covered by paint.
We treat the property around our work with the same care we give the surfaces being painted.
Protection systems, organized staging, dust and debris control, and routine cleanup are part of the project—not extras added when convenient.
Completion means more than putting the tools away.
Before a project is closed out, the work is reviewed for workmanship, completeness, and consistency. Items requiring attention are addressed before we consider the project finished.
